Mountain Dog Sports NADAC Trial (Golden, CO) |
Merlin competed in his (and mine) first
agility trial! At this NADAC trial, Merlin was
entered in Jumpers and Tunnelers. We had a clean
run in Jumpers but went overtime. However, we not
only qualified in Tunnelers but also earned a wonderful
3rd place ribbon! This is our first Tunnelers leg
and we look forward to doing more agility in the coming
months! |

Mountain States Dog Training Club (Brighton, CO) |
Abba earns her final two legs for her
Rally Excellent title - good girl, Abba! (Of
course, we won't talk about those two non-qualifying
scores in Novice Obedience...lol...why 'sit' when you
can lie down?!) |
|
Mar 24, 2006 |
Abba is now, officially, a volunteer at
Swedish Medical Center (a hospital in Englewood,
Colorado). She has completed all her training,
shadow visits and evaluation and will begin visiting the
hospital weekly. As a Delta Therapy Dog, Abba will
visit with patients, staff and visitors - showing how
much joy can be found in four legs and a wagging tail.
In just her first two visits, Abba has already logged
20+ patient visits and around 40+ visits in the
hallways, waiting rooms and lobby. |

Abba was one of three pet partner teams
assigned to the Englewood Public Library PAWS TO READ
program. This is a new program for the library and
Abba enjoyed having three children (ages 5-10) read her
stories about dogs...and she liked the treats they gave
her, too! Abba will be visiting the Englewood
Public Library on the 3rd Saturday of every month. |

Mar 3, 2006 |
Abba participated in the Literacy Day activities at
Holly Hills Elementary School. Working as one of
twelve Delta Pet Partner Teams present, Julie & Abba
went to a local elementary school where several students
from the 2nd grade class had an opportunity to meet Abba
and to read her a story. The kids were very
impressed with how big Abba was! Each child took a
turn reading Abba a short story (making sure she got to
see all the pictures on each page) and then they all
took turns giving her treats and having her perform sit,
stand, lie down, etc. She also got to say hello to
several first grade students and staff members at the
school. Abba was brilliant! |

Plum Creek &
CKC Dog Shows (Denver, CO) |
The Denver shows were certainly good to us...
Merlin:
He competed for three days in Excellent and walked away
with 3 qualifying scores. He is now Merlin, RE!
Abba: Our dane girl earned three consecutive
qualifying ribbons in Rally Advanced and is now Abba,
RA. On Monday we moved up to Rally Excellent
(having completed her Rally Advanced Title) and she
earns her first Excellent leg by scoring a 97 out of 100
points!
Isis:
Our co-owned dobergirl had a FAB weekend.
In five shows (each show was worth two points) she went
Reserve Winner's Bitch twice and she also went Winner's
Bitch twice! So, this weekend earned her 4 more
points toward AKC Champion title and she is now singled
out! Isis has 12 points (including one major) and
is now just looking for that final major that will make
her a Champion. All her points were owner handled
by Kathryn...WAY TO GO! |
