Our Breeding Program
Glacier Danes is a small family of Great
Danes in Parker, Colorado. We have been showing
Great Danes since 2000 and have occasionally bred our
dogs over the past 5 years.
Our goal is to not just breed Great
Danes, but breed healthy, happy, and to the breed
standard. We search for the best possible dogs to pair
with our dogs in order to create excellent
representatives for the breed in both conformation and
temperament. What this entails is that we search
across the USA for the best match for our future
generations. We seek complementing pedigrees and
when we find a pedigree we like, we contact the breeder
and inquire further.
All of our dogs are health tested for:
hips, elbows, thyroid, eyes, and heart. We will
not breed any of our dogs that do not pass these tests,
and will not breed to dogs that have not been tested
themselves. We spend a lot of time and money
ensuring what we do and what we breed is the best we can
possibly do for our beloved breed.
Whether or not we show the dogs we own,
none of our dogs ever leave our house, even if they do
not turn out to be show dogs or are retired show dogs.
They are part of our family and will always remain this
way.
Our dogs live on a 5-acre fenced property
and have plenty of time for exercise and playing.
For their safety while we are not home, they have their
very own building and individual kennels to reside in
until we return. They are truly spoiled rotten!
Please feel free to ask us any and all
questions. We encourage dialogue with us in order
to help educate you more on the breed as well as our
breeding program. If you see us at a dog show,
please come by and say 'hello!' We love to talk
about our gentle giants!
Welcome to Glacier Danes!
